Connect WhatsApp Business to Your Online Store

Connect your business WhatsApp number through the WhatsApp Cloud API and get a unified inbox, approved templates, and automatic linking to every customer and order.

Every WhatsApp conversation, linked to a customer and an order

One unified inbox for every conversation, automatically matched to the customer and every order they've placed — the same foundation the WhatsApp AI agent runs on.

  • Connects through Meta's Embedded Signup in about 3 minutes, with no BSP paperwork.
  • Every conversation lands in one unified inbox with full message history.
  • Each conversation is automatically linked to the customer's CRM record and orders.
  • Marketing and transactional messages only go out through templates Meta has pre-approved.

How to connect WhatsApp Business in about 3 minutes

Meta's Embedded Signup flow shortens the connection to a few minutes with no business partner (BSP) paperwork.

1
Embedded Signup with Meta

Sign in with your Meta Business account and verify the business number through the built-in Embedded Signup flow, which takes about 3 minutes and skips BSP paperwork or a separate Meta review.

2
Messages land in the inbox

From the moment it's approved, every inbound and outbound message on the business number shows up in one unified StoreChart inbox, just like any other customer conversation.

3
Manage conversations and automation

Handle conversations, send approved templates, and trigger automations like abandoned-cart reminders directly from that same inbox.

4
Automations trigger inside the same inbox

Once connected, event-based flows like an abandoned-cart reminder or an order-status update send automatically from within the same conversation history, without leaving the inbox to configure a separate messaging tool.

What unlocks once WhatsApp Business is connected

  • Unified inbox

Every WhatsApp conversation is centralized in one place with full message history per customer.

  • Approved templates

Marketing and transactional messages go out through templates that Meta has pre-approved, as the WhatsApp Business API requires.

  • Automatic CRM linking

Every conversation is automatically matched to the customer's record and orders, with no manual lookup or phone-number matching.

  • Event-based automation

Triggers like an abandoned cart or an order-status change fire an automatic WhatsApp message without manual intervention.

  • 24-hour customer service window

Free-form replies are allowed for 24 hours after a customer's last message, matching Meta's official session-window rule — outside that window, only pre-approved templates can restart the conversation.

  • Template categories

Meta requires every outbound template to be classified as marketing, utility, or authentication, and each category has its own approval process and per-conversation pricing set by Meta.

The unified WhatsApp inbox in StoreChart

The inbox shows every conversation alongside the customer's details and latest order, so replies never require switching screens.

How does the 24-hour session window and template system actually work?

The single most common point of confusion for merchants new to the WhatsApp Business Cloud API is the 24-hour customer service window: once a customer sends a message, the business can reply with any free-form text for 24 hours from that message's timestamp. After that window closes without a new customer message, only a pre-approved message template can be sent to restart the conversation — this is a platform rule enforced by Meta, not a StoreChart limitation, and it applies identically to every business using the Cloud API.

Templates themselves fall into three Meta-defined categories: marketing (promotions, new-product announcements), utility (order confirmations, shipping updates — typically tied to a specific transaction), and authentication (one-time passcodes). Each category goes through Meta's own review process before it can be used, and Meta prices conversations differently by category and by the customer's country, independent of anything StoreChart charges. A template rejected by Meta's review can be edited and resubmitted; there is no cap on the number of templates a business can have approved at once.

Inside StoreChart, event-based automation — an abandoned-cart reminder, a shipping-status change — is built to respect this window automatically: a reply sent within an active 24-hour window goes out as free text, while a reply sent outside that window automatically substitutes the correct approved template so the message doesn't silently fail delivery. This means store owners don't need to manually track which conversations are inside or outside the window before setting up an automation. Because the session window and template rules come from Meta rather than StoreChart, they apply identically whether the business sends one message a day or thousands, and switching WhatsApp Business Solution Providers in the future does not change these platform-level rules.
